Naples' PalaVesuvio opens its doors free of charge for the "October Sports Festival."

From October 15th to 22nd, the PalaVesuvio will become the home of sport for all. The Naples City Council, at the recommendation of Councilor for Sport and Equal Opportunities Emanuela Ferrante, has recognized the public interest of the "October Sports Festival" and has decided to provide the indoor facility free of charge to schools and associations that will offer selected activities for the event.
A strong message, voted unanimously, confirming the administration's commitment to promoting sport as a tool for growth, inclusion, and social cohesion. It's no coincidence that the initiative, launched by a City Council resolution in 2023 and now in its second year, aims to encourage sports participation and the physical and mental well-being of citizens, with particular attention to the most vulnerable groups: people with disabilities, minors, and the elderly.
The City is thus opening the doors of one of its most important facilities, as part of a social and tourism investment initiative, ahead of 2026, when Naples will be the European Capital of Sport. "By renewing last year's initiative," said Councilor Ferrante, "we want to offer all schools and associations a new opportunity to use shared spaces in one of our most valuable facilities. Sport is a key value in educating our children and improving our society. We want to reach 2026 with an increasingly large audience of children, teenagers, adults, and seniors who love and practice sports."
Project applications must be submitted by 6:00 PM on September 16th. All information and the call for applications are available on the City of Naples website.
